GreenDay - Tarlupadu - Year 2026

Tarlupadu, Prakasam District, AP

Bighelp For Education organized Green Day program at Zilla Parishad High School, Tarlupadu, Prakasam District, Anadhra Pradesh.

The Bighelp Green Day Program aims to create a cleaner, greener, and healthier school environment while encouraging students to develop environmental responsibility, leadership, and teamwork through active participation in tree planting and campus cleanliness.

Bighelp will provide an initial grant of Rs.6,000 to each participating school. The grant should be utilized for purchasing gardening tools and other essential materials, purchasing saplings, and planting and maintaining trees within the school campus.

The Bighelp Green Day Program is implemented under the guidance of the Bighelp Project Director in coordination with the school Headmaster. The Headmaster will appoint a teacher as the Green Coordinator to lead and manage the program. The Green Coordinator will select 16 interested students from Grade 8 as Green Ambassadors, organize and supervise the monthly Clean & Green Day activities, maintain records of student participation, and ensure that photographs and videos of each activity are shared with the Bighelp Administrative Office in Hyderabad.

The Green Ambassadors will be responsible for caring for the trees and plants on the school campus, watering plants, removing weeds, maintaining a clean and litter-free environment, and encouraging fellow students to actively participate in environmental conservation and cleanliness initiatives. They will meet on the 4th Saturday of every month to carry out activities such as watering plants, caring for gardens and trees, removing weeds, cleaning the school premises, and promoting environmental awareness among students.

To support the implementation of the program, Bighelp will provide Rs.1,000 per month to each participating school throughout the program period. Out of this amount, Rs. 800 will be used to purchase appreciation gifts for the 16 Green Ambassadors, approximately Rs.50 per student, while the remaining Rs.200 will cover miscellaneous program expenses, including gardening supplies and activity-related costs. The Clean & Green Day Program will be conducted annually from the 4th Saturday of July through the 4th Saturday of February, fostering environmental responsibility, teamwork, and sustainable practices among students.
