person. Once the boon is granted\, Vrikasura attempts to test his newly a
cquired power by placing his hand on Shiva himself. Shiva flees from him t
o the abode of Lord Vishnu\, convinces him to intervene and to destroy Vri
kasura.\nVishnu agrees and assumes the form a beautiful dancer called Mohi
ni and waits for Vrikasura who has been searching for Shiva. Vrikasura is
charmed by the beauty of Mohini and asks her to marry him. Mohini convince
s him to dance and mimic every move that she makes. In the course of gestu
res and postures\, Mohini puts her hand on her head and Vrikasura\, distra
cted by her beauty and grace\, does the same.\nThe moment he places his ha
nd on his head\, he gets burned and dies to his own power\, and Shiva and
